As the new coal-fired plants are continuing to handle incidents, they have not been re-operated yet, and some thermal power plants have stopped working for repair, which has made the supply situation in October still tense. straight.

According to the Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), from 15 to 23/10 will cut PM3 gas for the Ca Mau Thermal Power (1,500MW) to maintain the gas system as planned. Besides, the water level of the hydroelectric reservoirs in the South, the Central Highlands has not been improved, even many lakes are approximately the dead water level.

It is expected that in October 2010, the average power output of the whole system will be 287.7 million kWh, the maximum capacity of 15,500 to 16,000 MW. Meanwhile, the national power system has no backup.

However, on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long – Hanoi, EVN will strive to ensure stable power supply for production and social needs.

Accordingly, the hydropower plants are exploited to ensure that the water is at the highest level possible, with maximum mobilization of coal and gas turbines; To mobilize FO oil thermal power according to the specific operation situation, continue to buy electricity in China at maximum level.

In September 2010, the water levels of large hydro reservoirs such as Hoa Binh, Tuyen Quang, Tri An, Yaly, Dai Ninh … are lower by 11-24 m than in the same period of 2009, the central and southern lakes fluctuating in the water level, the total amount of water in the reservoirs of the whole country is 33.3 billion m3 less than the average of many years.

Total electricity production in the system in 9/2010 reached 8,653 billion kWh, an average of 288.4 million kWh per day, up 14.64% over the same period of 2009, the hydropower output in September was about 5.94 billion kWh .
